Frequently asked questions

Do I have to be a Buddhist to join a programme?Show answer

No. Just an interest in understanding and a wish to study rigorously.

Can I combine several paths at once?Show answer

Yes. Many people study while doing the Meditation Course: practice and study nourish each other.

What's the difference between a retreat and a multi-year programme?Show answer

A retreat is a few days of intensive practice: it's a way to begin or to go deeper. A programme is a continuous path, with a group, guidance and follow-up, so that the practice takes root in your life.

Can I start at any time? And progress at my own pace?Show answer

Yes. Classes are recorded: you start whenever you like and progress at your own pace, over one year or several. Live sessions and gatherings have fixed dates.

How are the courses structured?Show answer

Three courses of two semesters each. Each one combines core subjects with Lama Norbu, Dharma-in-dialogue electives and a practice thread.

Do I need to travel to Casa Virupa? How often?Show answer

No. Everything can be followed online; there are 1–2 optional onsite gatherings a year.

Does the online format offer the same teaching quality?Show answer

Yes. Classes are recorded exactly as they are taught, and the accompanied follow-up is the same.

How much does the full programme cost?Show answer

On demand (you pay for what you take), the essential programme at €1,200/year or the complete programme at €1,800/year. All with a 7-day free trial.
