What it involves
Diálogos de Virupa is a conversation between Lama Norbu, Gloria Cagigal and Berta Sáenz about matters that run through all of us: our relationship with work and self-exploitation, the myth of the family, anger at what we perceive as unjust, celebration, or our relationship with partying.
In each episode we put the Dharma in conversation with what is being thought, written and debated today. Sometimes that means reading the paramitas —shila, virya, generosity— alongside the contemporary critique of hyperproductivity. Sometimes it means coming in through a concept from the tradition: Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche’s myth of freedom, the eight worldly winds. And sometimes it means sitting down with people from outside: the writer and thinker Sara Torres to talk about desire, or the activist Carlota Bruna to talk about what Buddhism can offer in the face of the climate crisis.
From September we record one episode a month in the galleries of Can Bordoi, with an audience in the room.
